James Beard Foundation Award Speech

WHAT A NIGHT. I’m still reeling from the excitement of sharing the stage with some of my personal heroes as we took an evening to celebrate the inspiring efforts for a more just food system. Big thanks to the James Beard Foundation for the honor – and to my fellow awardees – I’m so heartened by your work and we stand with you in solidarity. And to my dear friends Debra and Bryant for the lovely introduction – thank you! I feel so grateful to be surrounded by so many smart, persistent, bold thinkers and doers.
